UNC System President Peter Hans made the announcement Friday morning, after the full UNC Board of Governors approved the selection. Hans called Lee Roberts "a calm, steady and focused leader."

Roberts has been running the University since January. In this interview with Co-Host Leoneda Inge, he reflects on controversial decisions, policy changes, and campus protests.

UNC-Chapel Hill has already suspended about 15 students following a pro-Palestinian encampment late last month. Interim Chancellor Lee Roberts said the university is continuing to review other demonstrations and plans to 鈥渢ake action鈥� against more protesters.
